Removing Pitons from the World Map (Reduce Visual Clutter)
Please add the ability to automatically remove used pitons from the global map after a set number of uses (e.g., after 4 uses), or alternatively—allow players to manually dismantle/reclaim them.
Rationale:
* Visual clutter: Pitons accumulate indefinitely, obscuring terrain and reducing map readability.
* Immersion: Real pitons degrade or are reclaimed—permanent ones break the game’s grounded realism.
* Player agency: Manual removal or reclamation supports intentional interaction and world management.
* Perfectionist/aesthetic preference: Many players (myself included) find persistent clutter distracting or even stressful; a clean map significantly improves satisfaction and immersion.
* Performance/UI: Reducing persistent map objects helps maintain UI clarity and stability—especially in late-game.

JackAlternatively, if this feature were implemented, pitons could be automatically removed from the map after a certain amount of time. Some players have reported that recent updates have broken the saved locations of their pitons

Mateo M TobinI can understand how you might feel about the look of pitons that you have decided to place; however, pitons you've placed presumably proved useful to you. I only place pitons in useful places and I assume most other players, are like me, and are careful where and when they place pitons. So this recommendation weighs more heavily as a harm to other players, based solely on utility, than the benefit it may have to you (and perhaps a few) based on aesthetics.
