save games missing
the last 2 days save games have disappeared. I've saved the game multiple times over the last 2 days. But when i come back on the game the only save games left are from 2 days before.

PG MergedI lost roughly 20-30 manual saves and 10-15 hours worth of saves on PC GamePass.

Ariel Santiago MergedI lost my saves several times, losing hours and hours of gameplay. They simply disappeared and were not even available to be loaded. I stopped playing, however, with the newest update, I resumed playing in the hope that this bug had been fixed. Apparently it wasn't. I spent hours playing and today when I went to look for my saves I couldn't find them. I took a point common to all the save's disappearance episodes. Always occurs after I explore Tiltren's tomb. I don't know if it's relevant, but I think it's worth bringing the information to light. How do I recover these saves? My game and Gamepass are up to date.

Ariel Santiago MergedRight. I checked if the trigger for the problem was really something linked to Tiltren's tomb and it seems so. I made a save just before entering the tomb. I entered the tomb and immediately did the bard's challenge. I clicked on the statue and unlocked the bard profession. I selected a character called "Brutus", who was a novice miner and migrated him to the bard profession. I took the challenge and passed successfully, getting all the notes right. I didn't do anything else in the tomb, I just left there and saved the game. I then made a quick save for good measure (f5), closed the game, and restarted the computer. I opened the game again and the saves after completing the barbel challenge in Tiltren's tomb had indeed disappeared.

Ariel Santiago MergedAlthough at first I thought the problem was activated with some action inside Tilren's tomb, I saw that it wasn't. I logged into my last recognized save, did some battles in the region, stole some skills from the bandits' camp and the school and saved them. I restarted the game and the save was no longer there.

Chrissame problem, save multiple games and the next day they are gone. seems to stay in file as long as game is running and when shut down the saved games are gone.

UnknownControl MergedI too, have lost hours of progress due to the lost save game problem (gamepass - PC).
I'm going to wait for a permanent fix before ever playing again.

LunaAlso just lost saves 2nd time in 2 days. Last time it was 2hours of playing, now it is 6 (which makes really multiple saves, as I wanted to be sure they are there and checked after every save if it is seen in the Load section) and I have no will to play whole region from the beginning. Last time I at least had the save files in my folder but the game did not see them. Now they are just gone. Is there anything to be done to recover these? Game was really fun, but I have no intention of replaying whole days of this.
Btw, last time I had too many saves it seemed, after some saves, next ones were just ignored, but this time only like 1.5 hours of the lost 6 were above the limit so I was replacing the oldest saves. -

Guru3In the same subject, has anyone tried moving save files and moving from xbox to steam? I'm trying to do that, seen some threads from 4 months ago that it worked. But for me game opened with steam does not see the moved saves for me (although it loaded all the achievements),

HadrackI lost about 40 hours of gameplay. There was a power outage, and when the power came back on, I started the game and realized I had lost all my progress, even though the data in the "save" folder seemed intact.
I tried various ways to reverse the situation, but so far, I have not been successful.
At least I managed to make a copy of the files from the "save" folder. Let's see if there's a way to recover them." -

kivSame issue here on pc game pass. Tried looking through the save files and doing some fixes but nothing worked. The game only shows save files from the day before. Well, time to delete this game then :(

Jaymes2 days in a row, I put 6-7 hours in game. I save and get on the next day to find all of my progress is lost. I'm loving the game, but if this persists, I'm done.

eduardoSingle player and i lost all my savegames. I think is related to too much savegames in the machine, before i turn of my machine they were in place and ate the other day were not. I think is related an issue trying to sync it in the server

WarWyvernLost days of gameplay due to saves appearing to reset as if restored to an earlier snapshot from the cloud—except that I don't have Steam cloud enabled.
Will try to restore the more current save files, if they're still available, but this is clearly a massive bug that needs to be fixed. -

Wartales enjoyerYesterday my game freezed during a fight. After restart all the saves were gone and the steam cloud save was overwritten as well.
I would believe that saves are being kept very well and secure to prevent such occurences. I really enjoy the game but playing with a fear that a at given moment you can lose all the progress it very bad.
I hope this bug can be addressed as soon as possible. -

PatrickWhen you are stuck at your loading screen, you know that your saves are gone... How could this even happen, even from the cloud saves? For me, this is the 1st time. All these came about when I bought and installed the new pirates DLC.

AndiCan't load any new multiplayer save game. All progress seems to be lost. When i try to overwrite an old save game it dissapears. :-(

DumekaSo I have a singles save, a co op save with 179,41 Hours that are still there but after we loaded the game with my friend today and got the ornament key for the chest for the new quest, I opened the save window to save our progress and saw that no saves where shown anymore.
I still created a new save for just in case.
We both went out from the game, I loaded our old save and he just can't join anymore, no matter what we do.
It always says to him that the room doesnt exist when he adds the copy paste code to join our game.
He doesn't get an invitation when I load the game like he used before (no message in our chat either) so I think he gets blocked out of the co op game so we can't continue our play anymore. :( -

We had this issue as well. We have solved it like this:
The first problem seemed to be the saves were not coop anymore, so I went to the multiplayer menu and chose the option to load a single player game and it changed to coop.
Second problem was, I forgot I was using an VPN, because my friend could never join the "new" coop game I loaded, so I turn off the VPN and now we are playing again.

TimTo reinforce my comment about COOP games - have played for about two weeks with no issues, then last night (30 Dec) the game failed to save as a COOP game (even though we were online at the time) and only saved as a single player game. We could not figure out how to load multi-player from the single player save. Can that be done?
