Title: Beast Hunt DLC - “Escape” fails after scouts rescue & boss defeat
Description: In Beast Hunt DLC first location battle, use contextual “Distract” skill on beast to rescue frightened scouts — succeeds, but “Escape” skill never appears, blocking evacuation zone retreat. Despite this, progress to boss cave, defeat sleeping boss, move entire squad into retreat zone post-victory — “Escape” remains inactive/missing. Episode does not complete, permanently blocking next boss fight & stage progression. Bug stalls entire Beast Hunt chain.
Repro: 1. Enter location w/ Huntsman. 2. Initial beast fight → Distract saves scouts, no Escape unlocks. 3. Reach cave despite issue → defeat boss. 4. Full squad in post-boss retreat zone → no Escape, episode frozen.
Expected: Escape activates after scouts saved & post-boss retreat entry.
Actual: No Escape ever; chain broken after boss kill.
Tried: 5+ save reloads across playthroughs

I've been have the same problem.
I'm stuck on this battle.
I've ready tried to refresh de combat skills, validated the game archives on Steam, and reboot de game several times, nothing works.
How can I solve this problem? -

RalphI have the same problem. All my companions are in the escape zone, but the escape button doesn't appear, so the battle goes on and on. Really annoying!

RalphI tried again today... unfortunately, no... the escape button just won't appear. It's so frustrating :(

JillSame issue here. And it's not just the first mission — I actually managed to beat that one by killing all the trash mobs the boss summons. But later, while exploring those lands, it hit me hard.
I'm playing on the highest difficulty, iron-man and solo. And at first I thought maybe the problem was on my end. Like, maybe some mechanics just aren't meant for solo play (like the cursed village missions in Kharag). But after reading through this thread, I can see a lot of people are running into the same bug.
Does anyone know if the devs are aware of this thread or if there's been any word on a fix?

gonzoBug still exists, is it random Beast fight or quest, no escape button after reaching the green zone
